SIRIPADAYA.
Sri Padaya is located in the Ratnapura District of the Sabaragama Province of Sri Lanka and is said to be about 2243 meters high. Sri Pada is a sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhists. The mountain can be reached by several routes, and the Nallathanni Palabaddala route is very famous. Sri Pada is also known as Samanala Kanda. The Sri Padaya pilgrimage begins every year on the Unduwap Poya day and ends on the Vesak Poya day. Worshipping Sri Padaya at night is a wonderful experience. Many people worship Sri Pada by singing the Buddhist hymns, which are a unique part of our literature. Meanwhile, watching the sun worship is also a favorite experience for many.
